Brief (around 300 words) personality outline of your character:
Regal, stoic, and highly composed, as a child Winter was often seen as more royal than her tomboyish best friend and adoptive sister, Leia. These traits stayed with her as an adult, and she gained a cold pragmatism that gave her a reputation for being icy.
While she is and always will be as deeply in mourning as she was when her homeworld was first destroyed, she doesn't let it show or affect what she does. Personal feelings never do; no matter what's going on, very few things break her emotional control. It's a coping mechanism.
She's highly practical and somewhat ruthless when called for, but in her down time she enjoys luxury and expensive, impractical things. She is trustworthy, very devoted, and will professionally do pretty much anything required of her.
Brief (around 500 words) history and background of your character OR link to a really good wiki page with their history. In either case, explain where they cut off from the timeline:
Here. She's taken from shortly after the marriage of Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade, but before the Vong arrived.
Sample post (just a general, everyday, puttering-around-the-ship post; please include a snippet of dialogue):
"'Alderaanians get the worst of everything,'" Winter mused to herself. Not her words. They'd been said just over nine years ago by Threekim Horm, president at the time of the Alderaanian Council. He'd said it supposedly off-record in an angry aside. She remembered it as clearly as if the words were still hanging in the air.
Horm had been all too interested in playing the victim card, never devoted to the ideals of lost Alderaan or to the New Republic, and he had stolen the moss painting Killik Twilight and put it up for auction. He'd been useful for swaying the population of Alderaanian expats, those who hadn't wholeheartedly thrown in with the New Republic, but she'd always thought of him as fairly useless on the balance of things.
But now, standing in Stacy and unfortunately aware that it was next to impossible to truly dry off, the words came back and rang true. Hadn't she lost enough already? She could never forget. It would never dull with time. Every loss was fresh. Forever. Wasn't losing one world enough?
The thought was dismissed as soon as it came to her. Loss couldn't really be measured, and even if it could, that was a useless activity. She wanted neither pity nor defensiveness. She wanted to get on with her duties in the hope that one day, however far away it might be, she could get one of those losses back.
No, she couldn't distract herself from the fact that she didn't know where she was going. It wasn't that she was lost - even if the walls moved, she could compare them to the image of where she'd been and get back. It was that she genuinely didn't know where this thing she was looking for was. She hadn't seen a map.
Nothing for it. Winter checked her expression. It hadn't changed. Good. She turned to the closest being. "Excuse me. I'm looking for the [______]. Help me out here."
If the character has magic, mutant, or otherwise metahuman abilities, please explain what they are and outline EXACTLY how they function, as their powers may not work due to the nature of the ship or may need to be limited somehow:
Winter has essentially perfect recall of everything that happens to her and all info that comes her way. She can't forget anything that she has seen or heard. This isn't actually superhuman, but it's unusual.
Non-superhuman special abilities of note (Is your character a master ventriloquist? A naturally-occurring super-genius? The best martial artist in the world? Say so here):
Winter has a lot of talents. As an aide to Leia, she used her ability to essentially record what was going on, and later to summarize it and come to conclusions. As a spy, she was excellent at disguises and had intrusion skills. She can throw a punch hard enough to knock a man to the ground, she is a good shot with a blaster, and her focus is very hard to break.
She's also a guardian/nanny and a good if somewhat mechanical pilot - no flash or inspiration, very technical. A lot of her skills are learned through observation, and she's quick at picking up new ones.
